Chemistry 31- Fact or lie? You decide

Hello (:

Firstly, the physical properties of an acid is that is it corrosive and that it has a sour taste. It also has a sour taste.
Secondly, the physical properties of an alkali is that it produces soap and tend to be bitter.

So let's analyse Dove soap(:

"Dove is formulated to be pH neutral, with a pH that is usually between 6.5 and 7.5." abstracted from http://www.ask.com/wiki/Dove_(brand) .
From this, we can say that Dove soap is not exactly neutral in pH level as the neutral pH level is supposed to be 7 - water.
Apart from all these, maybe we can assume that the pH level of Dove soap is neutral because they claimed so. Despite all these, there is a point that I would like to point out.
Does it mean that if Dove soap is neutral, hence I can consume it?

Nope, definitely not. The main reason why: Never taste a chemical. We might just die of some poisoning. As we all know, Dove soap are made up of several chemicals and other components that produces the fragrance and other things you can find. Hence, by consuming it, although it is not acidic nor alkalic, we might get poisoned by the chemicals that is present within the formation of the soap.

Have you ever tasted it? I happen to be a user of Dove body shampoo too (: and the last time I tasted it, I thought that it tasted bitter instead of tasted. Perhaps that's the taste of the other chemicals, not the pH level fault entirely.
