Topic 3There are 10 000 small screws. They are to be placed in packets of 50. Manual labor is banned. What are the ways that can be used. Method 1:Electromagnet Adjust the voltage(resistance) of the electromagnet to pick up the amount og screws that you want. Method 2: Using a the weighing method Grab 50 screws and put them on a weighing machine. Take down the mass of the srews. The next step would be taking approximately 50 screws in one grab. Take in/out the extras or insufficient. About the first method: Even if we adjust the voltage of the electromagnet, we still can't determine how many screws it can pick up at one shot. When the voltage is too low, we might not be able to attract any screws at all. Like wise, if the voltage is to high, too many screws will be attracted to the electro magnet resulting the imbalance of number. However, this method might be faster than the second method mentioned above. About the second method: Grabbing 50 screws at a time might be very time consuming. What happens if each time we grab the screws, the numbers will be over estimated or under estimated? We would have to recount everything again. Isn't this the same as counting every single screw? ps: i'm not criticising anything(: i'm just expressing my views(: I feel that if someone invents something like this: A machine with 50 holes that fits screws 'head' just right. And that the machine would pick up that 50 screws 'stuck' in that machine and it would bring the screws to another place for packaging. However, the screws would have to be all in upright position, if not, the results would be still the same as the above methods mentioned. Packaging would come in place after the machine drop the screws into one place. Only 50 screws are in that place at one time to prevent confusion. Ok, i think my suggestion sounds off. Give me suggestions? (: Will still be blogging on the next one. ~coming up~ |
